A few months ago, the name "Confessions of a DIY Junkie" came to me for a blog title. I loved the name, purchased the domain immediately, and began thinking about all of the random things I could post. I also began to think about how amazing it would be to create a space to be creative in. I had a spare room that made me cringe every time I walked by it... I knew it needed some love but I wasn't sure what type until that very moment. My boring spare room would soon become a fusion of essentials... a walk in closet to house my clothing and jewelry creations, a nail bar for my fabulous manicures, and a place to study as I tackle my Ph.D. This idea ultimately became a domino effect of DIY projects... and now I finally and proudly present to you, my new workspace... and also... the home of Confessions of a DIY Junkie.
I made the earrings, thrifted and altered the shirt, and made the skirt in the picture above.
Press play. The soundtrack to my creativity awaits.
Does anyone recognize the picture below and is it worth something? Let me know!
I found this frame at a local thrift shop. I used painter's tape to protect its beautiful gold frame and painted on four coats of chalkboard paint over the course of a week.
Spotted this table in the basement at my job. The Director of Facilities gave it to me with not the slightest bit of hesitation... shocking, I know.
Three coats a paint, two yards of fabric, a razor blade, and four brass corners later, my 1980's eyesore became this gem. The finishing touch of the brass corners screams LUXE.
